Mr Sri Kamalarajah

Mr Kamalarajah has performed over 4,000 cataract operations as well as numerous oculoplastic surgical procedures.

I am a Consultant Ophthalmic surgeon with a specialist interest in Oculoplastic, Lacrimal and Orbital disorders. I am based at the Royal Victoria Hospital and also have sessions in the Mater and Downpatrick Hospitals. I graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Dundee. I completed my basic Ophthalmic training in the Royal Victoria hospital, Belfast. During this time, I also undertook a period of ophthalmic research towards a Doctor of Medicine at Queen’s University Belfast. I became a Fellow in Oculoplastic, Orbital and Lacrimal surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, in 2002.I was appointed Consultant Ophthalmic and Oculoplastic Surgeon at Altnagelvin Hospital, Londonderry, in 2003. I moved to the Belfast Trust in June 2011, where I am currently based.

Personal profile

Outside of work my interests include spending time with my family, gardening playing golf and tennis. I am a member of Lisburn Golf Club and Downshire Tennis Club.
