The fund was officially launched at the inaugural Shamrock Ball on Thursday 10th March 2016 at the Radisson Blu in Sligo.

The Ball, which was sponsored by Kingsbridge Private Hospital, was a thoroughly successful event.  Attendees enjoyed a fabulous 3 course meal, cabaret performance, silent and “live” auction and danced well into the night with a live band.

Since then we have established a committee who will help decide where the funds raised will be distributed.   Our first Kingsbridge Sligo Community Fund committee meeting took place recently and we are delighted to announce that a total of €15,082 was raised on the night and so far we have donated over €10,000 of the funds raised to many different charities.

For 2017 funding has been awarded towards several new projects including supplying street furniture/sculptures to enhance the streetscape and make Sligo a nicer place to live or visit, building dug outs at the sports pitch in Ballygawley, purchasing up-to-date head protection for the safety of local horse riders, installation of a theatre loop system for the hard of hearing and the purchase of new music stand banners for the Sooey School Band.

Our fundraising will continue so keep an eye on our website for more information on how you can take part.

“May I congratulate you on a truly outstanding event.

Everyone had a great night and the branding of Kingsbridge was excellent. We had a group of customers from Sligo General and at the end of the evening they all asked that we invite them again next year. !!
I am sure that I will be in Sligo again soon and will be delighted to meet up.

Best wishes for great success this year”
