Following the continued expansion and development of services offered by Kingsbridge Private Hospital Sligo, several new job opportunities have been created. The hospital is currently recruiting for an additional Clinical Nurse Manager to join the experienced team.

We are keen to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Nurse Manager to lead, develop, and support the nursing teams in the ongoing delivery of high-quality care in the Surgical Department.

Job Title: Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (CNM1)
Department: Surgical Department

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and development of the Surgical Department. The CNM1 will adopt a leadership role offering support to clinical employees and taking ownership of the ongoing delivery of high-quality care that our patients have come to expect. As the role is critical to the effective operation of the department, flexibility will be required from the successful candidate.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report to and liaise directly with the Clinical Nurse Manager 2 ensuring the efficient operation of the Surgical Department.
  • Lead the nursing teams in the pursuit of patient centred and high-quality care and liaise closely with the wider multi-disciplinary team.
  • Be familiar with managing change and allocate work appropriately throughout the department.
  • Management and oversight of the efficient use of department resources.
  • Take a proactive approach to the development of nursing staff.
  • Offer support on operational and employee relations issues.
  • Take charge of the monitoring and re-validating of quality and safety issues.
  • Demonstrate a problem-solving approach.
  • Understand and implement the process for Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation.

Paediatric Nurse

Job Summary:

The post-holder carries responsibility for the assessment of Paediatric patient care needs and for developing, implementing and evaluating programmes of care. The post-holder will provide skilled Paediatric care to patients, both pre and post-surgery, from 2 years of age and upwards. The post holder will be required to work with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure provision of the best quality of service and to may be required to work within different clinical areas of the hospital as demand dictates or as clinical services develop further.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide clinical care ensuring the delivery of the highest standard of individualised, family centred care to children and their families in conjunction with the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Ensure that a child and family-centred approach to care is provided in inpatient areas, which takes account of children’s individual medical, psychological, emotional, and social needs.
  • Responsible for the safe co-ordination of admissions within the unit for children and young people booked for surgeries, investigations, tests, or ongoing treatment, ensuring best use of available resources and in line with hospital policy and procedures.
  • Communicate with a range of children, families, and staff, adjusting the language and style of delivery as appropriate.

Endoscopy Nurses

Job Summary:

To provide excellent nursing care, and to actively participate in, and contribute to, the management of the unit. Participate in the decontamination, traceability and maintenance of endoscopes and other specialised equipment used in endoscopic and non-endoscopic procedures, and provide technical assistance during such procedures.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Professional/Clinical:

  1. To ensure the provision of a high standard of nursing care to patients attending the Endoscopy Unit, working within agreed policies and procedures.
  2. To provide technical assistance during diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, ensuring safe working practice by following agreed guidelines.
