60 jobs secured and plans for service expansion announced by NI’s largest private healthcare company

3fivetwo Group, Northern Ireland’s largest private healthcare company, has agreed to acquire St Joseph’s Hospital in Sligo.

The 19-bed private hospital in Garden Hill will be rebranded Kingsbridge Private Hospital Sligo, after the Group’s flagship property, Kingsbridge Private Hospital in Belfast.

All 60 staff jobs at the hospital, which utilises 50 consultants across 25 specialties, will be secured and 3fivetwo aims to create new jobs and foster a wider range of services going forward. 3fivetwo Group has already been successful in HSE tenders and is building a long term relationship with key stakeholders in the Republic.

Mark Regan, Group Development Director, said: “This is good news for the North West and good news for 3fivetwo, continuing our growth in the healthcare sector and enhancing our position as a vertically integrated healthcare provider which offers true patient choice.

“We have just announced a €4.2m expansion of our Belfast operation and are constantly seeking new opportunities for growth in Ireland, the UK and USA, having recently partnered with a Philadelphia company to develop a Telehealth product.”

3fivetwo Group has a multi-million pound turnover and employs 240 staff, along with the services of 400 consultants and 300 nursing staff.

Group companies include Kingsbridge Private Hospital, 3fivetwo Healthcare, H3 Health Insurance, the Training Academy, Origin Fertility Care, Dental Excellence, Optique Eye and Ear Care and cosmetic surgery wing, Cosmetech.

St Joseph’s current range of surgical and diagnostic services includes outpatients, endoscopy, cardiology, general surgery, oral surgery, gynaecology, dermatology, plastics, ENT, urology, pain management, ultrasound, anesthesia, physiotherapy, neurology and orthopaedics.

St Joseph’s Hospital was founded in the 1950s and until early last year was part of the Mount Carmel Medical Group.

Kingsbridge is delighted to announce that JCI Accreditation has been awarded to Kingsbridge in June 2015.  This prestigious award reflects Kingsbridge Commitment to Safety.

Kingsbridge Private Hospital Sligo have a new Urodynamic Service. The Hospital has invested significantly in technology in this sector. The service is run by Qualified nurses with Specialist Training in Urodynamics.

Mr. Hegarty is the Consultant Urologist who performs Urological procedures and consultations at Kingsbridge Private Hospital Sligo. There is a physiotherapy department on site who specialise in the field of women’s health, including stress incontinence. On the day of the procedure no preparation or food restrictions are required, but patients must come to the hospital with a full bladder.

Patients are requested to complete a 3 day diary of fluid intake and output and bring this to the clinic. As patients must be awake and alert for the procedure, no anesthesia is given. Evaluations are done for a variety of medical conditions,

Including:

Incontinence
Stress or urge incontinence
Voiding dysfunctions
A complete urodynamic evaluation usually consists of the following tests:

Uroflowmetry Rate – measures the force of the urine stream as you urinate and whether you can empty your bladder completely.
Cystometrogram/Electromyogram – measures activity in your pelvic muscles when you urinate.
Bladder Scan for post void residual
Specialist Areas

· Neurology

Charges
The above tests are usually covered by private insurance. Occasionally there may be a shortfall and this is payable on day of tests.

Patients who do not have insurance can avail of the procedures at a small cost to themselves.

St. Joseph’s Hospital Sligo swtiched on our Christmas Tree lights on Friday 29th November 2013. 

Staff, Consultants and family members were present.

A recent event entitled “ New Developments in St. Joseph’s Hospital Sligo” was well attended by local GP’s and Consultants.  5 Consultants who work at St. Joseph’s Hospital Sligo spoke at the event including Dr. Ivan Casserly Consultant Cardiologist (starting 12^th July 2013), Mr. Paul O’ Grady Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Mr. Martin Caldwell Consultant General Surgeon, Mr. Nicholas Hegarty Consultant Urologist and Mr. Thamir Ismael Consultant Plastic Surgeon.  Dr. Casserly, Consultant Cardiologist is an internationally trained Cardiologist who will be holding clinics at St. Joseph’s Hospital Sligo from Friday 12^th July 2013. 

Procedures performed at this Cardiac Clinic will include Stress Tests, Echo, and 24 hours Blood Pressure Monitoring.  Mr. Hegarty, Consultant Urologist is now performing outpatient clinics and procedures at St. Joseph’s Hospital.  A new Urodynamic service is now available to all GP’s and Consultants.  If you have any queries regarding any aspect of the care we provide please feel free to contact Maria Bailey on  071 9162649.
